Tuchel is expected to announce his final World Cup squad at the end of May.
The German manager said the fixtures were deliberately chosen to provide a strong test ahead of the global competition, noting that both teams sit within FIFA’s top 20 rankings, Uruguay at 16th and Japan at 18th.
Ghana will face England on Match Day Two of Group L on 23 June 2026. Before that, England opens their campaign against Croatia on 17 June, while the Black Stars take on Panama.
The final round of group matches is scheduled for 27 June, with Ghana meeting Croatia as England play Panama to close out Group L.
