The Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana (JUSAG) has strongly condemned a violent assault on the Kwame Danso District Court, describing it as a direct attack on the rule of law and the integrity of Ghana’s justice system.
In a press statement released on Thursday, December 12, JUSAG expressed deep concern over the incident, which involved unknown assailants vandalising court property and disrupting judicial proceedings.

The association labelled the act “barbaric, unacceptable, and a serious threat to the administration of justice,” warning that attacks on judicial officers and infrastructure jeopardise both the justice delivery system and the safety of court personnel.
“The attack on the Kwame Danso Court is not just an attack on a building, it is an attack on the justice system of Ghana,” the statement read, signed by Samuel Afotey Otu, National President and Chairman of the National Executive Council of JUSAG.
JUSAG called on the Ghana Police Service to conduct a thorough investigation and bring the perpetrators to justice without delay.
The association also urged the government to bolster security at court premises nationwide to safeguard judicial officers and staff.
Warning that continued attacks without accountability could force it to advise members to withdraw services from unsafe jurisdictions, JUSAG reaffirmed its commitment to the rule of law and appealed to civil society, the media, and all well-meaning Ghanaians to protect the sanctity of the judiciary.
