One of those games comes on Wednesday, November 19, when they host Young Apostles, a fixture that could propel them into the top four with victory.
Aduana Stars delivered an early shock to the home fans, taking the lead just four minutes in. Goalkeeper Aziz Daari spilt a powerful strike from Seidu Saana, and Emmanuel Marfo reacted quickly to bury the opener.
The visitors kept up the pressure, forcing Daari into several crucial saves to keep Kotoko in the contest.
Kotoko struggled to settle, finding it difficult to control possession or create meaningful chances. Aduana dominated the midfield exchanges while the home fans, led by the Porcupine Tertiary supporters’ group, urged their team on.
Coach Abdul-Karim Zito responded by introducing Baba Yahaya for Samuel Tenadu to regain balance in the midfield decision that changed the tempo of the game. Four minutes after the substitution, right-back Lord Amoah produced a sensational equaliser, firing from about 35 yards. The strike took a heavy deflection, wrong-footing goalkeeper Prince Osei.
The goal rejuvenated Kotoko, who piled on pressure until halftime. They returned for the second half with even greater intensity, pushing Aduana deep into their own territory. The “Ogya Boys” resorted to counterattacks as Kotoko dominated proceedings.
Both sides created good openings in the closing minutes, but despite the end-to-end action, neither could find the decisive goal, leaving the game level after an entertaining 90 minutes.
Kotoko’s unbeaten streak remains intact, but they will be eager to convert more of their spirited performances into victories as they chase a place at the top end of the table.
