Vice President commends cadets at Republic Day parade

Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has commended members of the National Cadet Corps for their discipline and performance during the 66th Republic Day celebrations.

In a statement, the Vice President said she represented President John Dramani Mahama as the Reviewing Officer at the National Cadet Corps Parade, where she inspected the parade before cadets from all regions of Ghana showcased displays of precision, discipline and teamwork.

She expressed sympathy to families and communities affected by the recent floods and urged Ghanaians to cooperate with the security and emergency services.

The Vice President noted that this year’s celebration marks the 72nd anniversary of the National Cadet Corps, adding that more than 10,000 cadets participated in Republic Day activities across the country.

She encouraged tutors and volunteer officers to continue mentoring the cadets and urged the cadets to uphold the values of discipline, leadership, patriotism and service.

Professor Opoku-Agyemang also acknowledged the contributions of the National Cadet Corps leadership, volunteer officers, coordinators, heads of educational institutions, regional directors of education, teachers, parents, drivers, mentors and volunteers for supporting the programme.
