Ghana has welcomed Russia’s cooperation and support in the country’s efforts to combat violent extremism in the Sahel Region.
The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, made the remarks during an official visit to Russia, following bilateral discussions with his Russian counterpart, H.E. Sergey Lavrov.

Speaking at a press briefing after the meeting, Mr. Ablakwa expressed the government’s appreciation for Russia’s support towards Ghana’s fight against violent extremism in the Sahel Region.
