Ghana House Project launched in London to boost trade, tourism and diaspora engagement for the 2026 Commonwealth Games

The Ghana House Project, a strategic platform designed to promote trade, tourism, investment, culture, and diaspora engagement, has been officially launched in London. The launch event, held as a Press Briefing, was led by the Deputy Head of Mission of the Ghana High Commission in the United Kingdom.

This initiative comes ahead of the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, and aims to position Ghana prominently on the global stage by leveraging the international attention the Games will attract.

The project is expected to serve as a dynamic hub for trade promotion by facilitating business-to-business engagements and showcasing Ghanaian products and services.

It will also boost tourism marketing by promoting Ghana’s rich cultural heritage, tourist destinations, and hospitality offerings.

In addition, the initiative will attract investment by highlighting opportunities in key sectors such as agriculture, energy, technology, and infrastructure while celebrating Ghanaian arts, music, fashion, and traditions through cultural diplomacy.

The project will further strengthen diaspora engagement by encouraging Ghanaians living abroad to contribute through skills transfer, remittances, and investment back home.

By establishing a physical and programmatic presence during the Commonwealth Games period, Ghana House seeks to convert global visibility into tangible economic and cultural benefits.

Hosting the Ghana House Project during the 2026 Commonwealth Games is highly strategic as the multi-sport event draws thousands of athletes, officials, media, and visitors from across the Commonwealth and beyond. The launch in London ensures early momentum and broad media coverage.

The involvement of the Ghana High Commission underscores official backing for the initiative. The project is expected to involve collaboration with various Ministries, the private sector, cultural institutions, and the Ghanaian diaspora.

If effectively implemented, the Ghana House Project could deliver increased foreign investment inflows, growth in tourism arrivals and revenue, new trade partnerships and export opportunities, stronger diaspora contributions to national development, and enhanced global perception of Ghana as a modern, dynamic, and investment-friendly nation.

As preparations for the 2026 Commonwealth Games intensify, the Ghana House Project represents a proactive step to ensure Ghana maximises the associated opportunities. All Ghanaians, both at home and abroad, are encouraged to support and participate in this national effort.
