International musician Stonebwoy marked a significant milestone on December 19th as he graduated with a Master’s degree from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) while simultaneously launching the Livingston Education Fund under The Livingstone Foundation (TLF).
The dual-purpose event celebrated both his academic achievement and the formal institutionalisation of his philanthropic efforts to support brilliant but financially needy students at GIMPA’s School of Public Service and Governance.

The Livingston Education Fund was inspired by Stonebwoy’s consistent, private practice of paying tuition fees for fellow students over his five-year tenure at the institution.
With a first-year fundraising target of 1 million Ghana cedis, the fund has already received initial backing from Gondor Cosmetics and UniMem Ghana.
According to Dr Louisa, Stonebwoy’s wife and GIMPA alumna, the initiative aims to transform personal acts of generosity into a structured, sustainable system for future generations of students.
Speakers at the event highlighted Stonebwoy’s dedication to his studies and contributions to campus life.
Dr Patrick Tando, former Dean of the School of Public Service and Governance, confirmed that Stonebwoy maintained regular attendance throughout his program, contrary to circulating rumours, and emphasised his efforts to improve the learning experience for his peers.
Cindy, president of the Public Administration Students Association, expressed gratitude on behalf of the student body, noting that Stonebwoy’s initiative demonstrates how to give back while shaping future policymakers.
Stonebwoy’s five-year academic journey included balancing rigorous coursework with his music career, and he notably hosted a concert during GIMPA School Week in 2024 to enhance student engagement.
Dr Louisa emphasised that the Livingston Education Fund will ensure that students who are brilliant yet financially constrained can access education without interruption, turning Stonebwoy’s compassion into long-term impact.
The Livingstone Foundation operates across four key pillars: education, youth empowerment, healthcare, and disability justice.
The launch of the Livingston Education Fund represents a strategic effort to institutionalise Stonebwoy’s philanthropic vision, ensuring that his commitment to education extends beyond his personal contributions and continues to inspire generations of Ghanaians.
Key figures at the event included Honourable Teddy Adi Safuri, Deputy Director for NADMO, who underscored government support, and Mr Benjamin Bubama, recognised by Stonebwoy for his instrumental role in helping him complete his studies during challenging moments.
The ceremony emphasised the dual legacy of academic excellence and social responsibility, setting a precedent for celebrity-driven philanthropy in Ghana.
