She described the honour as deeply meaningful, noting that the University of Cape Coast played a central role in shaping her academic and professional journey.

According to her, it was at the institution that she began her higher education and developed many of the values that have guided her work in leadership and national service.

Reflecting on her time at the university, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang highlighted her progression through various roles within the institution, including serving as Hall Warden of Adehye Hall before eventually becoming Vice-Chancellor.

She said receiving the Distinguished Fellow title was both humbling and significant, as it represents recognition from a university that has been central to her personal and professional development.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang also extended appreciation to her family, colleagues, friends and former students for their continued support throughout her journey.

The award marks a notable milestone for the university, which introduced the Distinguished Fellowship honour to recognise individuals who have made significant contributions to education, leadership and national development.
