A consortium of non-governmental organisations has donated a range of educational materials to the Have Fiakpokorpe M/A Basic School in the Akatsi South Municipality of the Volta Region. The supporting organisations included vision of Hope Alliance, a subsidiary NGO of Payangel, alongside Thx22 Foundation, Legacy Foundation, Aspire Foundation and other partner groups.

The donation comprised 100 dual desks, exercise books, reading books, footwear and clothing for pupils. The Assembly Member for the area, Mr Japhet Festus Gbede, who witnessed the event, also contributed school uniforms for distribution to the most vulnerable learners.

Mr Gbede described the ceremony as one of the most memorable occasions in the history of the Electoral Area, expressing deep appreciation to all individuals and organisations involved. He assured donors that the items would be properly utilised to improve teaching and learning.

He singled out Mr Dickson Assan, a Chartered Accountant, career coach, writer and Founder of the Career Compass Foundation, for his continued commitment to community development. He recalled that Mr Assan facilitated the arrival of THX22 Foundation last year, leading to the drilling of a mechanised borehole and the donation of more than 1,000 books and footwear to local pupils.

Mr Gbede further appealed for additional assistance, including a health centre, a KG block, an ICT centre and a Starlink device to expand digital access for schoolchildren.

Highlighting the community’s strong agricultural base, particularly its large-scale production of garden eggs, he encouraged Mr Assan to use his national and international networks to attract investors capable of establishing a processing factory. He noted that such an intervention would help prevent post-harvest losses while creating jobs and supporting sustainable development for residents.
