The Women with Disabilities Advocacy Movement in Mfantseman (WoDAMM) has staged a march through the streets of Saltpond in the Central Region, urging the government to expedite action on ratifying the African Disability Protocol (ADP).
The ADP, which complements the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), is a continent-specific framework designed to address the unique socio-cultural and systemic challenges faced by Africans with disabilities. It calls on governments to enact comprehensive laws, combat harmful traditional practices, and promote inclusivity in education, employment, and other sectors.
