Government to extradite foreign national who secretly filmed Ghanaian women to face prosecution – Sam George

The government has confirmed plans to extradite a foreign national accused of secretly filming intimate acts with Ghanaian women and circulating the videos without their consent.

The move comes amid growing public outrage over the violation of privacy and digital sexual exploitation.

According to Sam George, Member of Parliament and spokesperson on the matter, authorities are coordinating with international partners to ensure the suspect is brought to Ghana to face legal action. “We are taking this matter very seriously.

The law will take its course, and the perpetrator will not evade justice,” he stated.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the foreign national may currently be outside Ghana’s jurisdiction. However, this does not diminish the seriousness of the offense.

The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, in collaboration with the Ghana Police Service, has been working on measures to protect victims and prevent the spread of such non-consensual content.

Victims of the incident are being offered psychosocial and legal support, while authorities continue to monitor online platforms for any further circulation of the videos.

The government has also urged the public to exercise caution in their digital interactions and report any suspicious activity through official channels.

The case underscores Ghana’s commitment to combating digital sexual exploitation, holding perpetrators accountable, and protecting the dignity and privacy of its citizens.
