The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) Ashanti Regional Command has intensified fire safety awareness and disaster prevention campaigns across communities, schools, churches, health facilities, businesses, and media platforms in the region.
Through initiatives including the #CatchThemYoung and #OneHouseOneFireExtinguisher campaigns, fire officers educated the public on fire prevention, electrical and LPG safety, proper use of fire extinguishers, emergency reporting, and flood safety measures.

The engagements reached churches, schools, traders, artisans, health workers, and residents in communities, including Boamang, Anloga, Konongo Odumasi, KNUST, Agogo, Offinso, and Jacobu.
The Command also expanded its media outreach through radio and television programmes, where officers shared fire and flood safety information, corrected misconceptions about firefighting operations, and encouraged public support for firefighters during emergencies.
The Ashanti Regional Fire Commander, ACFO I Peter Tetteh, also inspected the newly rebuilt China City Mall at Ahenema Kokoben to assess fire safety installations ahead of its reopening. Other teams conducted fire risk assessments and practical education programmes to improve preparedness.
The GNFS Ashanti Regional Command said the activities reaffirm its commitment to preventing fire outbreaks, promoting safety awareness, and protecting lives and property through continuous public education and community engagement.
