Participants were taken through practical sessions on data collection, analysis, documentation, and reporting in line with national, regional, and international commitments.
Officials of the Ministry noted that effective reporting is critical to ensuring accountability, measuring impact, and informing policy decisions on women’s participation in peacebuilding, conflict prevention, and post-conflict recovery.
The workshop also highlighted the need for gender-responsive indicators and evidence-based reporting to better reflect the realities faced by women and girls in peace and security contexts.
Discussions further focused on challenges affecting WPS implementation, including gaps in data, limited institutional capacity, and weak inter-agency collaboration.
Participants shared experiences and best practices, with emphasis on strengthening partnerships between state and non-state actors.
The Ministry reaffirmed government’s commitment to advancing the WPS agenda, stressing that improved reporting will enhance Ghana’s ability to meet its obligations under international frameworks while promoting inclusive peace and security governance at the national level.
