Sam George terminates appointment of Kwadwo Gyamfi Osafo-Maafo as Director of Cyber Security at NCA

The Minister of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovation has terminated the appointment of Mr. Kwadwo Gyamfi Osafo-Maafo as the Director of Cyber Security at the National Communications Authority (NCA), effective immediately.

In a letter dated February 14, 2025, and signed by Chief Director Alexander Yaw Arphul, Mr Osafo-Maafo was directed to hand over his duties to the Acting Director-General of the NCA.

“In line with paragraph eight (8) of your appointment letter, you would be given three (3) months’ salary in lieu of notice,” the letter stated.

The termination follows an ongoing human resource restructuring at the Ministry and its agencies, as part of the government’s broader efforts to realign the governance framework.

The Minister expressed gratitude for Mr. Osafo-Maafo’s service to the nation. The letter was also copied to the President at Jubilee House.
