Ogilvy Africa Appoints Delna Sethna as Chief Creative Officer

Ogilvy Africa has appointed internationally experienced communications professional Delna Sethna as its new Chief Creative Officer to lead the agency’s creative operations across its Sub-Saharan Africa network. She will be based in the company’s Nairobi office and officially assumes the role on August 1.

Sethna brings more than 20 years of experience in the creative and marketing industry. She joins Ogilvy Africa from Red Fuse Communications, a member of the WPP Group, where she served as Executive Creative Director.

Ogilvy EMEA Chief Creative Officer Stephan Vogel welcomed the appointment, describing Sethna as an accomplished creative leader with a track record of delivering innovative campaigns and earning numerous industry awards.

The position of Chief Creative Officer is newly created as part of Ogilvy Africa’s strategy to strengthen its presence and creative leadership across the region.

Ogilvy Africa Chief Executive Officer Vikas Mehta said Sethna’s broad experience across different marketing disciplines would add significant value to the agency’s leadership team as it continues to deliver world-class creative solutions from Africa.

Before joining Ogilvy Africa, Sethna led several successful campaigns at Red Fuse Communications, including the relaunch of the Palmolive brand in India. She previously worked with leading agencies such as Lowe, JWT, Burnett, and Saatchi & Saatchi after beginning her career as a filmmaker.

Throughout her career, Sethna has received several international awards, including recognition at Cannes, D&AD, the Femvertising Awards, Spikes, Kyoorius, and the Effies. She has also served on various industry award juries and has been recognised among the Women Who’ve Changed the Face of Media and India’s 50 Most Influential Women.

Speaking on her appointment, Sethna said she was excited to join Ogilvy Africa and looked forward to helping clients achieve their business goals through creative solutions across the continent.
