Financial irregularities recorded across Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs), the District Assemblies Common Fund, Public Boards and State-Owned Enterprises, as well as Public Universities and Colleges of Education, fell from GH¢20.72 billion in 2024 to GH¢7.69 billion in 2025.
The decline represents a reduction of GH¢13.03 billion, equivalent to 62.9%, exceeding the government’s target of reducing financial irregularities by 50%.

The reduction has been attributed to stronger controls and greater accountability across public institutions, delivering measurable improvements in the management of public finances.
