Experience “Anticlockwise”: Nii Commey’s Coastal Stage Spectacle

Ghanaian storyteller Nii Commey presents Anticlockwise, a compelling stage production set to captivate audiences on December 13, 2025, at the National Theatre. This coastal masterpiece examines life’s struggles when time itself seems against us.

Set in a vibrant coastal community, Anticlockwise explores the intertwined lives of ordinary people navigating corruption, poverty, love, and hope: a laid-off civil servant turned canoe owner, a young footballer chasing international dreams, and a teacher balancing purpose and survival. Each narrative twists toward the central question: “How do we reverse this Anticlockwise?”

Nii Commey describes the play as “a conversation about us, how we trade time, trust, and truth in daily battles. It’s painfully funny, emotionally sharp, and timelessly Ghanaian.” Combining humour with drama, the production offers a mirror to Ghanaian life: resilient, hopeful, and unflinchingly real.

Audiences are promised an immersive, thought-provoking, and entertaining experience, a theatrical reflection on society wrapped in laughter, rhythm, and storytelling. Anticlockwise encourages corporate Ghana, families, and theatre enthusiasts to close the year with reflection and conversation through performance art.
