The Northern Regional Police Command has commenced investigations into the death of two females whose bodies were found in a room at Cab Hospitality Hotel in the Gbewa Residential Area of Tamale.
According to a police statement issued on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, the bodies of the two females, believed to be Benin nationals, were discovered on Monday, August 3, 2026, following a report from the hotel management.

The bodies have been conveyed to the Tamale Teaching Hospital Mortuary for preservation and a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
Police said preliminary investigations are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the deaths, identify the deceased persons and liaise with relevant authorities to facilitate contact with their families.
The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) has deployed a special team of investigators, intelligence officers and a crime scene team from the National Police Headquarters to assist the Northern Regional Police Command with the investigations.
The Police Command has urged members of the public with credible information on the incident to call the Police Emergency Numbers, 191 or 18555, or report to the nearest Police Station.
