According to the Police, the suspect, who was driving a Hyundai Mighty II container truck, failed to stop when signalled by officers and attempted to evade arrest. He was later pursued and arrested at Bondase.

A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 12 sacks and 80 parcels of compressed plant materials concealed in a container and wrapped in sellotape.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspected substance was loaded at Kpeve in the Volta Region and was being transported to Ada.

The suspect is currently in police custody assisting with the investigation, while the vehicle and exhibits have been impounded for evidential purposes.

The Tema Regional Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to combating drug trafficking and other criminal activities and urged the public to provide timely and credible information on suspicious activities.
