Police arrest additional suspect in murder of officer at Zebilla

The Ghana Police Service has arrested another suspect in connection with the murder of a police officer at Zebilla in the Upper East Region.

In a press release issued by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on February 17, 2026, the Police identified the suspect as Abdul Aziz Iddrisu, also known as Baaluuse.

He was apprehended during a joint intelligence-led operation at his hideout in Polego, a suburb of Bolgatanga.

According to the statement, three mobile phones were retrieved from the suspect and are currently undergoing forensic analysis as part of ongoing investigations.

Police further disclosed that the suspect has been seen in videos displaying weapons believed to be linked to criminal activities in the area. A special operation is underway to track and retrieve the said weapons and to arrest other accomplices connected to the case.

The suspect remains in police custody assisting with investigations. Authorities have assured the public that further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
