The operation began in Lamashegu, a known hotspot for drug-related activities, where one suspect was apprehended. The team then moved to the Aboabo market area, arresting another individual found with a powdered substance suspected to be cocaine.
Further intelligence led officers to NOBISCO, where an alleged supplier was arrested, although no incriminating items were discovered during a search of his residence.
The operation intensified in Savelugu, where a major raid at a suspected drug peddling hub resulted in the arrest of seventy-four additional suspects, bringing the total number of arrests to 77.
Police also retrieved several items believed to be linked to the illicit trade, including seven motorbikes, a Toyota Camry vehicle, quantities of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, and ten sachets of Tramadol.
All suspects are currently in police custody and undergoing screening. Authorities say those found culpable will be arraigned before the courts.
