The High Court hearing the alleged ritual murder of a 10-year-old boy in Kasoa has adjourned the case to July 25, 2022, for the empanelment of a seven-member jury.
The jury was expected to be selected earlier, but the presiding judge, Justice Lydia Osei Marfo, said the available jurors were engaged in other cases. She directed the court registrar to summon a new group of qualified jurors to ensure a smooth trial.

The accused are a 15-year-old boy and his alleged 18-year-old accomplice, who were committed to stand trial in August 2021. While the 15-year-old has reportedly confessed to his involvement in the murder, the 18-year-old has denied the charge.
According to the prosecution, the suspects allegedly lured 10-year-old Abdallah into an uncompleted building in Kasoa on April 3, 2021, where they killed him with a club and a cement block for alleged ritual purposes. Investigators say the plan was influenced by promises from a supposed spiritualist who demanded a human sacrifice and GH¢5,000 in exchange for wealth.
