CAF fines Ghana Football Association $15,000 over fan trouble at AFCON match: Ghana News

The Disciplinary Board of the Confederation of African Football () has imposed a fine of $15,000 on the (GFA) following fan trouble during the Africa Cup of Nations match between Ghana and on January 14, 2024.

The incident, involving scuffles between two groups of Ghanaian supporters at half-time, occurred at stand N°18, with the use of tear gas reported.

After examining the details of the incident, the Disciplinary Board made the decision, and the GFA is required to pay the fine within 60 days.

In response to the disciplinary action, the called on supporters and Ghanaians in Cote d'Ivoire to exhibit the best behavior, emphasizing compliance with the laws of the game.

The GFA also expressed intentions to collaborate with the Ministry of and supporters' group leadership to prevent future occurrences.
