The Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry has reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to working with stakeholders to enhance learning opportunities and improve the living standards of Ghanaians following the commissioning of the Agric-Impact Group Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Laboratory and internet connectivity facility at Apeguso in the Eastern Region.
The facility was commissioned on Friday, August 14, 2026, in the presence of community leaders, chiefs and elders, teachers, pupils, the Agric-Impact team and other stakeholders.

Initiated by the Agri-Impact family, the facility is expected to improve access to digital resources, expand learning opportunities and strengthen connectivity for teachers, pupils and residents of the Apeguso community.
Speaking on behalf of the Minister, Mr. Kwame Oppong Ntim highlighted the critical role of technology in modern development, particularly in advancing education, agriculture, entrepreneurship and access to information.
He noted that equipping communities with digital tools was essential to building a skilled, innovative and productive generation capable of contributing meaningfully to national development.
Mr. Oppong Ntim explained that although the Minister was unable to attend the ceremony personally due to other urgent official engagements, her commitment to the development of Apeguso and the welfare of its people remained unwavering.
The message also highlighted the longstanding relationship between the Minister and Mrs. Joyce Acquaye, wife of the Chief Executive Officer of Agri-Impact Group, Dr. Daniel Acquaye.
The Minister recalled that their relationship extended beyond public service, noting that they journeyed together from primary school through secondary school and university, where they were roommates.
She further acknowledged Mrs. Acquaye’s positive influence in her life, including introducing her to the apostolic hymn, “Oben Me Kyɛn Ma Danfo,” which she said continues to represent their shared faith, friendship and lifelong connection.
The commissioning of the ICT laboratory and internet connectivity facility was also held in honour of the memory of the late mother of Dr. Daniel Acquaye.
The Minister urged teachers and pupils of Apeguso to take good care of the facility, maintain the equipment properly and use the computers responsibly to enhance learning, digital skills development and knowledge acquisition.
