The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ellembelle, Mr Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, has supported 14 students of the St. Theresa’s Vocational Training Institute at Awiaso with a bursary package worth GH¢30,000.
The package, which covered school fees, was aimed at supporting brilliant but needy students of the institution as part of the MP’s education sponsorship programme that has been running for the past decade.

Presenting the bursary to the school, Mr Kofi Buah said his office established the scheme to promote access to education and support students in the Ellembelle District.
He urged the government to place greater emphasis on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), noting that graduates from such institutions had better opportunities to secure employment.
The MP also announced plans for his office to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with companies and organisations within the Nzema area to provide internship opportunities for students and improve their chances of employment after graduation.
Mr Kofi Buah said he had supported the school with equipment over the years and pledged to introduce an organisation to assist with programmes being offered by the institution.
He further promised to sponsor the school’s cadet corps for their outstanding performance during the Independence Day parade and donated a new set of football jerseys to the school.
The Principal of St. Theresa’s Vocational Training Institute, Madam Mary Anastasia Anane, expressed appreciation to the MP for his commitment and continued support towards education in the school and the district.
