Mrs Owusu-Kyere made the appeal during the launch of a revenue mobilisation exercise by the Finance and Administration Committee of the Assembly at Jinijini, the district capital.
She explained that the initiative followed recommendations from a recent General Assembly Meeting and aligned with the Public Financial Management Act, aiming to strengthen the assembly’s capacity to mobilize funds. She urged revenue collectors to intensify their efforts and called on the district taskforce to support their work.
In a related engagement, Mr Collins Asomah, the Berekum West District Chief Executive, addressed tricycle (pragyia) riders in Jinijini, urging them to prioritise safety and ensure they were registered under the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) for their own protection.
Some riders who spoke at an open forum expressed appreciation to the chief executive for the guidance and pledged to comply with tax obligations while contributing their share towards improving waste management and sanitation in the district.
