Love for All, Hatred for None, – Vice President Naana Jane tells Ahmadiyya Jalsa Salana in Winneba

Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has represented President John Dramani Mahama at the 93rd Jalsa Salana of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community held in Winneba.

Addressing the annual convention, which is organised to promote renewal, dialogue and peace, the Vice President commended the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community for its commitment to peace, integrity and national development. She said the community’s motto, “Love for All, Hatred for None,” reflects values that unite Ghanaians across faiths and cultures.

The Vice President noted that the theme for this year’s gathering, “Moral Decadence and Our Responsibilities in the Light of Islamic Teachings,” highlights the moral duty of both citizens and leaders to act with integrity, oppose injustice and uphold ethical leadership. She stated that such values are essential for national strength and development.

In this regard, Prof Opoku-Agyemang reaffirmed the government’s commitment to accountability and transparency, including improved coordination among anti-corruption agencies and the enforcement of a strong Code of Conduct for public officials.

She also highlighted the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community’s contribution to national development, particularly in agriculture, citing progress on the Pomadze Poultry Initiative. She said the project aligns with government programmes such as Feed Ghana and Nkoko Nkitinkiti, aimed at boosting domestic poultry production, creating jobs, stabilising prices and improving food security.

Beyond agriculture, the Vice President acknowledged the community’s investments in education, healthcare and humanitarian services, and praised the role of the Lajna Imaillah, the women’s wing, in supporting social development.

She further outlined areas of progress under the current administration, including economic stabilisation, education and health reforms, youth skills development, infrastructure, good governance and social fairness.

Prof Opoku-Agyemang concluded by thanking Ghanaians for their trust in the Mahama administration and called for continued commitment to faith, unity and service to the nation in the new year.
