Kennedy Agyapong triumphs over Bawumia in Volta Region's Tongu constituencies

, Ghana – In a significant political development, the Central, North, and constituencies of the have thrown their support behind Mr. over Dr. in the recently concluded presidential primary.

As per the results declared by the (EC), Mr Agyapong garnered 1,131 votes, surpassing Dr Bawumia, who received 901 votes.

In , Mr Agyapong secured 427 votes, while Dr Bawumia received 355 votes. Dr Afriyie Akoto collected five votes, and Mr Francis received 11 votes.

In the Constituency, out of a total of 547 votes cast, Mr Agyapong obtained 271 votes, narrowly edging out Dr Bawumia, who received 266 votes. Dr. Afriyie Akoto and Mr. received four and two votes, respectively.

At , Mr Agyapong received 433 votes, while Dr Bawumia secured 280 votes. Dr. Afriyie Akoto and Mr. Addai-Nimoh received nine and five votes, respectively.

The certified results at the Sogakope GP Primary School Park left some of Dr Bawumia's supporters surprised, as Mr Agyapong emerged victorious in these crucial constituencies.

Mr Batonb S. Braimah, the South Tongu District Electoral Officer, confirmed that the electoral exercise was conducted peacefully, underlining the importance of peaceful democratic processes in the region.
