Grenadian Prime Minister Dickon Amiss Thomas Mitchell to visit Accra for two-day official talks with President Mahama

The Grenadian Prime Minister, Dickon Amiss Thomas Mitchell, is set to arrive in Accra on Thursday, 16th October, for a two-day official visit to Ghana.

According to a statement issued by the Presidency, President John Dramani Mahama will welcome Prime Minister Mitchell for bilateral discussions on Friday morning, followed by a State Luncheon.

The visiting delegation will include Grenada’s Chief of Staff, Mr Teddy St Louis, and Mr Joseph Andall, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Trade and Export Development, alongside other senior government officials. Shortly after arrival on Thursday, the delegation is scheduled to participate in the inaugural Ghana-Grenada Political Consultation Meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Prime Minister Mitchell is also expected to visit the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park before departing Ghana later on Friday.

Grenada, a volcanic Caribbean island nation in the West Indies with St. George’s as its capital, is known for its lush rainforests, fertile land, mountains, beaches, and diving sites, which drive tourism and the economy. In 2024, Ghana and Grenada signed bilateral agreements on visa waivers and cooperation in culture, trade, and education, further strengthening diplomatic and economic ties between the two countries.
