Ghana’s Golden Arms shine at 2025 World Armwrestling Championship

Accra, Sep. 15, GNA – Ghana’s armwrestling team, Golden Arms, delivered a remarkable performance at the 2025 World Armwrestling Championship in Albena, Bulgaria, securing two silver medals and a bronze medal.

The team, represented by Mabel Yeboah, Blessed Abeka Nunoo, and Daniel Acquah, impressed with their technique and determination on the international stage.

Mabel Yeboah, a Prisons Officer, excelled in the Youth Women 60kg category, clinching silver in the left arm event and bronze in the right arm event. Blessed Abeka Nunoo of the Ghana Immigration Service also made history, winning silver in the right arm event of the same weight category in the Juniors division.

Debutant Daniel Acquah, representing the Ghana Prisons Service in the Men’s 65kg category, gave his opponents a tough challenge but narrowly missed out on a podium finish. He had previously made headlines as champion at the Africa Armwrestling Championship in Nigeria, raising expectations for his world debut.

The achievements of the trio reinforce Ghana’s status as a leading armwrestling force in Africa.

Mr. Charles Osei Asibey, President of the Ghana Armwrestling Federation, commended the athletes, attributing their success to consistent training and unwavering determination.
