NPP Youth Organisers pick nomination forms for Dr. Bawumia

Some youth organisers of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Wednesday, August 13, 2025  picked up presidential nomination forms for former Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Party’s Flagbearer for the 2024 general election, ahead of the Party’s January 2026 presidential primary.
The youth organisers, comprising substantive and deputy youth leaders from constituencies nationwide, purchased the forms at the Party’s headquarters in Asylum Down, Accra, and subsequently presented the forms to Dr. Bawumia at his campaign office in Accra.
Mr. Abubakar Razak, the Subin Constituency Youth Organiser, on behalf of his colleagues, presented the forms to Dr Bawumia.
Dr. Bawumia expressed gratitude to them for their unwavering commitment and support, describing the gesture as a remarkable show of trust in him.
“The youth organisers of our party across the length and breadth of our country, 490 out of 552, came to me.
“The leadership requested that they wanted to put their widows’ mite together and pick nomination forms for me, which I agree to. This is a remarkable vote of confidence in me,” Dr Bawumia said.
Dr Bawumia continued: “This morning, they have fulfilled the promise they made and have picked the forms from the party’s head office and delivered it to me.
“The youth are a major asset of our party and the nation. They represent the future. I want to thank them for this major vote of confidence.”
Dr. Bawumia cautioned the youth against divisive politics and insults, underscoring the importance of unity within the party.
“I’m minded to contest the flagbearership of the NPP and will make a full declaration in that regard when I go to submit the forms you have delivered to me,” Dr. Bawumia said.
He urged party leaders to continue to be decorous during the contest, and called for a policy-based campaign, devoid of mudslinging and personal attacks.

Marti Kpebu vows to ensure Attorney-General acts on ORAL team’s petitions Marti Kpebu, a member of the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) team, has pledged to ensure that Attorney-General Dr. Dominic Ayine takes action on the petitions submitted to the team. On Monday, February 10, 2025, the ORAL team presented its report to President John Dramani Mahama in Accra. Following the presentation, President Mahama handed the report to Dr. Ayine, instructing him to launch immediate investigations into the cases outlined. Speaking on Eyewitness News on Citi FM, Kpebu emphasized the importance of a thorough probe into the complaints received from the public, highlighting the need for accountability. “These are petitions. Some people have even submitted them anonymously, detailing concerns about financial misconduct. The Attorney-General cannot simply discard them. He will review the cases, begin with the straightforward ones, and work his way through the more complex ones,” Kpebu stated. He further underscored the credibility of the petitions, insisting that they were backed by substantial evidence. “We know the strength of the petitions we submitted. The Attorney-General is aware that I personally sat through and reviewed these cases, gathering evidence. He will not have peace if he tries to dismiss them. Ablakwa won’t let him rest. Domelevo won’t let him rest. Kofi Boakye and now Raymond Archer, who has been appointed as one of EOCO’s deputy directors, will also be involved,” Kpebu added. He stressed that the ORAL team would hold Dr. Ayine accountable to ensure the cases are not ignored. “So, Dr. Ayine has no choice. We will demand action, and he won’t get peace until justice is served,” Kpebu asserted. The government has yet to officially respond to the ORAL team’s demands.
