Felicia Edem Attipoe nominated as Tema West Municipal Chief Executive

President Nana Addo Dankwa has nominated Ms. Felicia Edem Attipoe, Ghana's First Female Aircraft Marshaller, as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the West Municipal Assembly (TWMA).

Ms. Attipoe's nomination, outlined in a letter dated April 24, 2024, from the Ministry of Local Government, Decentralisation, and Rural Development, is subject to confirmation through voting by the Assembly members of TWMA before she assumes office as the MCE.

In accordance with Article 243(1) of the 1992 Constitution and Section 20(1) of the Local Government Act, 2016 (Act 936), President nominated Ms. Attipoe to the position, pending approval by the Assembly.

Once confirmed, Ms. Attipoe will succeed Ms. Anna Adukwei Addo, who has led the affairs of the TWMA since the last quarter of 2021. Born on April 21, 1975, Ms. Attipoe boasts over 20 years of experience in the aviation industry.

Notably, she has played a significant role in supporting and mobilising members of the New Patriotic Party () in Atiwa Asiama, Adenta, and West. Previously serving as the constituency women's organiser and contesting the Greater Regional Women's Organiser's election, Ms. Attipoe brings multifaceted experience to her new role as MCE nominee.

If confirmed, Ms. Attipoe will undoubtedly bring her wealth of experience and leadership skills to bear in driving development initiatives and enhancing the welfare of the Tema West Municipality.
