Over 100 students graduate from AWS and AmaliTech Cloud Computing program

The collaboration between Amazon Web Services (AWS) and AmaliTech has yielded its first cohort of graduates, with 106 students completing their training in cloud computing. This initiative aims to equip over 5000 Ghanaian youths with employable skills in Cloud Computing.

The program, based on the AWS re/Start curriculum, provided participants with training in cloud operations, infrastructure support, programming, security, database fundamentals, and commercial support functions. Graduates are now connected with employment opportunities, addressing the growing demand for digital skills in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Ruba Borno, Vice President of Worldwide Channels & Alliances at AWS, highlighted the importance of empowering individuals with cloud computing skills to take charge of their careers. She commended the investment made by the AWS Partner Network (APN) in this endeavor.

With more than five million Euros being injected into the project in Ghana over the next three years, AmaliTech is set to expand the supply of qualified professionals in cloud computing and increase diversity in the tech sector. Salami Suleiman, Head of Training at AmaliTech, emphasized the company's approach of combining training with employment and continuous learning to create a skilled technology workforce.

AmaliTech aims to train over 5,000 people, certify 4,000 AWS practitioners, and secure employment opportunities for more than 2,000 individuals by the end of 2026. This joint project, launched in November 2023, is described as the largest cooperation in the company's history.

The graduates expressed their gratitude for the opportunity provided by the program, highlighting the dedicated instructors, plentiful resources, and exciting events that made the learning experience enriching. They see this program as a stepping stone for a career in cloud computing.

Since its inception in 2020, AmaliTech has trained over 1,000 individuals in Ghana and , providing them with the digital skills needed for today's job market. This initiative marks another significant milestone in Ghana's economy and the development of a sustainable technology ecosystem in .
