Citi FM Foundation and Ghana Chamber of Mines inaugurates modern health centre in Mepe

Citi FM Foundation, in collaboration with the Ghana Chamber of Mines, has unveiled a modern health centre for the people of Mepe in the Constituency of the . This initiative is part of the Foundation's ongoing efforts to provide relief to communities affected by the spillage of the .

The newly inaugurated health facility boasts state-of-the-art amenities including male and female wards, a laboratory, a delivery room, consulting rooms, a maternity ward, children's ward, washrooms, and staff quarters.

Mr. Samuel Attah-Mensah, the Managing Director of Citi TV/Citi FM, emphasized the Foundation's commitment to supporting the people of Mepe, particularly in light of the flooding they experienced. He affirmed their dedication to promoting quality healthcare services in the region and pledged ongoing support to the community as needed. Mr. Attah-Mensah commended the collaboration with the Ghana Chamber of Mines and expressed gratitude to the traditional authorities for providing the land for the project.

Mr. Joshua Mortoti, President of the Ghana Chamber of Mines, revealed that GH¢1.5 million was invested in constructing the health centre. He assured the community of the Chamber's commitment to working with stakeholders to equip the facility with necessary medical supplies. Additionally, GH¢ 400,000 was allocated to local contractors for the construction of a 10-unit toilet facility, which is nearly complete.

Togbe Kwasi Nego VI, the Mankralo of Mepe, expressed his joy and appreciation for the commissioning of the first health centre in the community. He emphasized the importance of the facility in providing primary healthcare services closer to home and reducing the burden of for medical attention.

Dr. Chrysantus Kubio, the Volta Regional Director of Health, thanked the donors and assured the deployment of a Physician Assistant to the facility. He appealed to corporate entities to support by providing medical equipment.

Mr. Samuel , the Member of for Constituency, and Mr. Osborne Fenu, the Chief Executive of North Tongu District, pledged to ensure the proper maintenance of the facility and to provide necessary support for quality healthcare services in the area.
