Speaker of Parliament dedicates church pews in Nadowli-Kaleo District

Mr. Alban S. K. Bagbin, the Speaker of , participated in a dedication ceremony at the St. Dominic in Sombo, Nadowli-Kaleo District, where new church pews were consecrated to enhance worship experiences. Previously, had used normal benches, which made it challenging to observe certain Catholic ordinances, such as kneeling to pray.

Led by Reverend Father Jonas Santah of the Kaleo Parish, in collaboration with the Vision Foundation, initiated the acquisition of new furniture. With support from the Speaker of , a total of 64 pews were constructed at a cost of GH¢113,600.00.

During the dedication service, Mr. Bagbin commended the congregation for their dedication to church development and expressed gratitude to Father Santah and the Vision Foundation for their efforts. He highlighted the growth of the church from a mud-grass-thatch structure to its current state, which also serves as the Sombo R/C Basic School.

Reflecting on the significance of the church, Mr. Bagbin emphasized its role in spreading the gospel taught by Jesus Christ. He noted the importance of providing conducive worship spaces, citing the new pews as a means to motivate congregants to attend services comfortably.

In his sermon, Reverend Father Santah underscored the message of life after death conveyed by Jesus Christ and emphasized the role of the church in spreading this message. He praised the introduction of the pews, which would facilitate a more comfortable worship experience for parishioners.

Additionally, Mr. Anthony M. Sumah, the Member of Parliament for Nadowli-Kaleo Constituency, pledged GH¢5,000.00 to support the church in acquiring the remaining pews needed, further demonstrating community support for the church's development initiatives.
