POJOBA 2000-Year Group launches Innovation Incubation Centre project for Pope John SHS

The 2000-Year Group of Old Students of Pope John Senior High School and Minor Seminary (POJOBA 2000) has initiated the construction of a cutting-edge Innovation Incubation Centre on the school's campus in .

The Centre, estimated to cost $250,000, will be a two-storey complex equipped with modern facilities including a video conferencing room, digital library, and coding centre, and laboratory, aimed at nurturing students' skills and talents.

Mr. Kojo Asante, President of the Year group, emphasized that the Centre would foster innovation, creativity, and problem-solving skills among students in science, technology, engineering, and arts-related fields, positioning them as drivers of national development.

The decision to undertake the project reflects the group's commitment to equipping students with 21st-century digital and technological education, aiming to transform the educational landscape of the school.

Having secured 30% of the funding capital, the group aims to complete construction by 2025, coinciding with their 25th-anniversary celebration since leaving school, with plans to scale up financial support to ensure timely completion.

Reverend Father Benjamin Ohene, Headmaster of the School, lauded the initiative, expressing gratitude for the potential benefits to both students and , who will have access to digital education resources.

With a current student population of 2,636 and a staff complement of 137 teaching and 76 non-teaching staff, Pope John Senior High School and Minor Seminary anticipates the Centre will enhance learning outcomes and contribute to human resource development in Ghana.
