Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, the Director of Elections for the National Democratic Congress (), has voiced apprehension regarding the recent disruptions in fixed mobile data services across the country.

In a statement, Dr Boamah urged the Government, local authorities, and international stakeholders to provide accurate and verifiable information concerning the causes of the data disruptions. He emphasized that citizens deserve transparency regarding the circumstances surrounding the disruptions.

Dr Boamah highlighted the potential implications of the data disruptions on the upcoming December 7, 2024, elections. He indicated that while cyberattacks cannot be ruled out as a potential cause, clarity is needed to address the concerns raised by many citizens.

The Director of Elections stressed the importance of recruiting and training quality human resources for electoral activities, emphasizing the need for preparedness until the (EC) declares the rightful winner. He urged a focus on human resource mobilization and training across the country, suggesting that electoral challenges extend beyond solely relying on information technology solutions.
