Minority in Parliament to introduce bill repealing the E-levy, emissions tax, and betting tax

The Minority in has announced plans to introduce a private member's bill aimed at repealing the , emissions tax, and betting tax. This decision follows a proposal by the New Patriotic Party's flagbearer, Dr , to eliminate these taxes if elected in the 2024 polls.

During his concluding remarks on the State of the Nation Address () delivered by President Nana Addo Dankwa , Dr Cassiel , the Minority Leader, highlighted the heavy burden these taxes place on businesses and the population at large. Dr Forson expressed hope that the Majority side of the House, which endorsed Dr Bawumia's stance on removing the e-levy, would also support the bill. He emphasized the urgent need to address the unemployment crisis and food insecurity facing many Ghanaian families.
