Nanton District Celebrates Educational Progress and Civic Responsibility

During the district celebration of Ghana's 67th Independence Day Parade at the Nanton E/A Primary and Junior High School Park, Mr Abdulai Murtada, the District Chief Executive of Nanton District in the , revealed significant strides in education. Between 2019 and 2023, the district established approximately 30 new schools, demonstrating a commitment to fostering a literate population and enhancing educational opportunities in the area.

Mr. Murtada emphasized the collaborative efforts of the community in overcoming obstacles and achieving collective goals. He highlighted the district's remarkable growth in infrastructure development, healthcare facilities, education, and economic prosperity.

Under the national theme, “Our Democracy, Our Pride,” Mr. Murtada underscored the District Assembly's achievements in education. He proudly announced the full operation of the Nanton Senior High School, established the previous year, and the commencement of academic activities for the second batch of students. Furthermore, efforts were made to connect the school to the national grid to enhance teaching and learning experiences.

Several educational institutions participated in the parade, showcasing the diversity and vibrancy of the district's educational landscape. Among them were the Nanton E/A Primary School, Zieng Primary School, Nasara Academy Nanton, Nanton Girls Model D/A JSH, Fazhine Methodist , Jana Rabania E/A Primary, Sandu D/A Primary, Nanton D/A Primary ‘A', Nanton Kurugu D/A , Tampion Junior High, and Nanton Senior/Technical High School.

Mr. Mohammed Hardi Tufeiru, Member of for the Nanton Constituency and Deputy Minister of Agriculture, urged residents to uphold civic responsibilities and support government initiatives for development. He emphasized the importance of environmental cleanliness as a key aspect of patriotism.

The celebration not only highlighted educational progress but also emphasized the importance of civic duty and community participation in fostering national development and prosperity in the Nanton District.
