The (WAEC) has officially released the provisional results for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination () for Private Candidates, 2023 Second Series. The results include data from 37,825 candidates, comprising 17,389 males and 20,725 females, with 16 visually impaired candidates. A total of 1,231 candidates were absent from the examination.

In a statement signed by John K. Kapi, Head of Public Affairs, for Head of National Office, WAEC has withheld the results of 289 candidates implicated in various cases of examination malpractice. Alleged malpractices include collusion, impersonation, bringing foreign materials (including mobile phones) into the examination hall, and seeking external assistance. The release or cancellation of these withheld results will depend on the outcomes of the ongoing investigations.

Candidates can access their results online at WAEC's official website. The Council warns against scammers promising result upgrades for a fee payable through transfers, emphasizing the security of WAEC's results database. Institutions and organizations are advised to authenticate or verify results directly through WAEC's confirmation/verification service online or by downloading the WAEC QR Code.
