In the aftermath of Saturday's Super Delegates Conference of the New Patriotic Party (), Vice President Dr. has expressed profound gratitude for the resounding endorsement he received from the party faithful.

The conference, which saw specially selected delegates cast their votes nationwide, marked the beginning of the process of electing a flagbearer for the 2024 elections. Out of the 10 aspirants vying for the position, five candidates were to be selected for the final process in November.

With an impressive margin, Dr. Bawumia emerged victorious, securing nearly 68.15% of the votes, while and claimed the second and third positions respectively.

In his remarks to the media following the announcement of the results, Dr. Bawumia expressed gratitude to God and the party for the decisive victory in the initial stage of the contest. “I'm thankful to God for the emphatic nature of my win today. I am also thankful to the delegates for the overwhelming confidence they have shown in me,” he stated.

Dr. Bawumia emphasized the significance of his win, viewing it as a strong indication of support from the delegates. He acknowledged the responsibility of uniting the party following the internal contest, stressing the importance of cohesion as they prepare for the main election in 2024.

“This is only the first step towards our march to the flagbearership. I see this as a step towards winning the flagbearership,” Dr. Bawumia asserted, highlighting the ultimate goal of securing victory in the 2024 presidential election.

Urging unity among the party members, Dr. Bawumia emphasized the need to maintain solidarity and support the eventual winner of the internal elections. “We should unite together and close ranks so that we fight together after the internal elections and win the main election,” he remarked confidently.
