Minister Hawa Koomson urges GJA to reconsider blacklisting decision: Ghana News

Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development and Member of for , , has called on the (GJA) to reconsider its decision to blacklist her from media activities following an alleged attack on a journalist.

In a statement released by her Press Secretary, Kabore Awudu Moro, Minister Koomson expressed concern over the GJA's decision and denied all accusations leveled against her and her associates regarding the incident.

“While unequivocally condemning the reported incident, the Honorable Minister vehemently denies all accusations levelled against her and her associates,” the statement read.

Acknowledging the importance of the media in democracy, Minister Koomson emphasized her commitment to fostering an environment that safeguards journalists in their duty.

She urged the GJA leadership to reconsider the blacklisting decision, highlighting the absence of evidence implicating her in the incident.

Minister Koomson also called for trust in the ongoing investigation by the to apprehend the alleged attacker.

The statement concluded with a commitment from Minister Koomson's office to initiate a dialogue with the GJA leadership to address any misunderstandings and foster a constructive relationship between her and the media.
