Mr Joseph Siaw Agyapong, the Executive Chairman of the Jospong Group of Companies, has emphasized the importance of prioritizing sustainability in business by investing in future-proof innovations.

Addressing participants at the five-day Jospong Leadership Conference themed “Driving Business Excellence through Innovation, Sustainability, and Empowerment,” Agyapong highlighted sustainability as a crucial factor for growth.

He urged business owners to foster a culture of creativity, involving employees at all levels in decision-making processes.

Agyapong emphasized the significance of respecting and valuing the contributions of every employee, stating, “If you look down on people, you will never be a very good innovative, and sustainable person.”

Highlighting sustainability as both a corporate responsibility and a strategic advantage, Agyapong stressed the need for companies to align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for strategic positioning.

Agyapong, whose Jospong Group specializes in sanitation and waste management, emphasized the positive impact of sustainability, asserting that it leads to reduced resource consumption, lower energy costs, and minimized waste.

Mr Eric Seddy Kutortse, the Executive Chairman of the First Sky Group of Companies, echoed the sentiment, underscoring the importance of sustaining businesses in Ghana.

He urged business owners to design succession plans for long-term sustainability and shift their focus from immediate profits to lasting business impact.

Emphasizing the significance of employees, Mr Baba Mahama, the President of the Full Gospel Businessmen's Fellowship International, urged companies to prioritize their workforce, stating, “Employees must be the first focus for companies and not customers.”

Mahama advocated for prioritizing fair wages for employees over fraudulent self-enrichment by business owners.
