Ankaful Prisons management appeals for logistical support to enhance inmate reformation: Ghana News

Management of the Ankaful Maximus Prisons Complex in the has appealed for logistical support to enhance the rehabilitation and training of inmates.

Reverend Superintendent Adobaw-Ogoe, Chaplain of the facility, highlighted that the lack of adequate and updated weaving, sewing, electrical, and carpentry tools is hindering efforts to train convicted prisoners.

Despite having qualified personnel for teaching and training inmates to facilitate their reintegration into society, the insufficiency of tools poses a significant challenge.

Reverend Adobaw-Ogoe conveyed this appeal during a visit by Mount Carmel Prayer Center in Elmina, Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem, which donated assorted food items to the facility.

The donation included 1000 packs of hot meals, 60 bags of sachet water, 55 packs of soft drinks, and pastries worth Gh¢6,000.00.

He expressed gratitude to the religious group for their continuous support over the past six years and urged others to emulate their benevolence.

Prophetess Esther Acquah, the Patron of Mount Carmel Prayer Center, explained that their charitable gesture aligns with biblical teachings of assisting the less privileged, especially prisoners.

She emphasized that with the right empowerment and support, incarcerated individuals can improve themselves and become valuable members of a healthy society.

While advising the youth to refrain from activities that could jeopardize their future ambitions, Prophetess Acquah underscored the transformative impact of providing proper support to prisoners.

The Ankaful Maximum Security Prisons complex comprises three other prisons: Contagious Disease Prison, Main Camp Prison, and Ankaful Annex Prison.
