Dr Robert Arkoh vows to unite NPP in Upper Denkyira East for 2024 elections

Dr Robert Arkoh, an aspiring parliamentary candidate for the New Patriotic Party () in Upper Denkyira East, has pledged to consolidate the party's unity to bolster its chances in the upcoming 2024 general elections.

Addressing the media following his vetting on Wednesday, Dr Arkoh acknowledged the existing fragmentation within the constituency, positioning himself as the unifying force required for the party's success. He highlighted the diminishing fortunes of the party since 2016 and emphasized the urgent need for a cohesive strategy to secure victory.

“The fortunes of the party have since 2016 been significantly dwindling. All is not well in the constituency, and the people are calling for a new person in the name of Dr Robert Arkoh because of my contributions to the development of the constituency,” he asserted.

As the sole contender against the incumbent MP, Mr Festus Awuah Kwofie, Dr Arkoh is confident in his ability to lead the party to success. Describing the vetting process as successful, he expressed hope for a positive outcome from the vetting committee and the national executives of the party.

The is currently vetting a total of 27 aspirants from 10 constituencies in the region where it has sitting MPs.

The constituencies include Upper Denkyira East, , , Hemang-Lower-Denkyira, Assin South, Awutu-Senya East, Mfantseman, Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese, , and Gomoa Central.

The vetting committee is scrutinizing aspirants based on various criteria, including their commitment and loyalty to the party, criminal records, and other relevant factors that will determine whether they pass or face disqualification.
