Foreign Affairs Minister engages three inspiring women on the margins of the 81st UN General Assembly

The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Honourable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has engaged with three inspiring and impactful women on the margins of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

The Minister had fruitful conversations with UN Under-Secretary-General and Special Adviser on Africa, Ms. Ahunna Eziakonwa; Dr. Comfort Ero, President and CEO of the International Crisis Group; and Ms. Birgitte Markussen, European Union Special Representative for the Sahel.

Their separate discussions focused on Africa and home-grown initiatives such as Reparatory Justice, AfCFTA, the Accra Reset Agenda for Health and Resource Sovereignty, regional integration, resolving conflicts and finding lasting solutions to violent extremism, particularly in the Sahel.

They also discussed His Excellency President Mahama’s vision for the AU Chairmanship in 2027 and how they can forge closer ties with their organisations.
