Sefwi Nyetina, Western North Region – Mr Asamoah Brefo, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for the Bibiani-Anwhiaso-Bekwai Constituency, has demonstrated his commitment to community development by donating 120 roofing sheets and an undisclosed sum of money for the construction of a modern community centre at Sefwi Nyetina.
The benevolent gesture responded to a plea from the Chief and elders of Sefwi Nyetina, who sought Mr Brefo's support in establishing a central hub for community gatherings, including durbars and events.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) following the donation, Mr Brefo expressed his dedication to leading Bibiani-Anwhiaso-Bekwai towards its developmental goals.
He affirmed that, if elected as the Member of Parliament for the area, he would ensure the constituency receives its fair share of national development funds through the MPs Common Fund.
Mr. Brefo emphasized his commitment to creating opportunities for the youth, stating, “I have already sponsored more than 82 youth into apprenticeship to be trained in various vocations so they can have better lives.”
The Chief and elders of the Sefwi Nyetina community conveyed their appreciation for Mr Brefo's generosity, acknowledging that the donated materials and funds would significantly contribute to completing their community centre project.
They further appealed to him to extend support to more youth in the community, helping them acquire technical and vocational skills to alleviate unemployment in the area.
