President John Dramani Mahama held bilateral talks with Jamaica’s Prime Minister, The Most Honourable Dr Andrew Holness, as part of his historic State Visit to Jamaica.
The meeting, held on Monday, August 3, 2026, focused on strengthening Ghana-Jamaica relations through enhanced cooperation in trade and investment, education, tourism, culture, agriculture and other areas of mutual interest.

During the discussions, President Mahama reactivated conversations with his Jamaican counterpart on the desire to establish a direct airline connection between Ghana and Jamaica.
The proposed direct air link is expected to enhance tourism and strengthen people-to-people exchanges between Ghana and the Caribbean.
The two leaders also reaffirmed their shared commitment to deepening Africa-Caribbean partnerships and promoting closer collaboration on regional and global issues.
