The Akyem Abomosu Police Command has arrested nine suspects for alleged involvement in narcotics-related activities, Indian hemp trading and prostitution in the Atiwa West District of the Eastern Region.
The suspects include three Nigerian women and six Ghanaian men, who were arrested during a targeted police operation in Akyem Abomosu.

The operation, led by the Commander of the Police Forward Operating Unit (FPU), ASP Seth Ehuren, targeted locations identified as hotspots for suspected narcotics activities and prostitution.
Police said items believed to be connected to the illegal trade in Indian hemp were retrieved during the operation.
The suspects are expected to appear before the Osino Magistrate Court on Friday, July 17, 2026.

The police said the operation forms part of ongoing efforts to combat narcotics offences, prostitution and other related crimes in the Atiwa West District. They reaffirmed their commitment to intensifying operations against criminal activities in the area.
