Dennis “Miracles” Aboagye, an aide to New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has denied reports that the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) questioned him over alleged GH¢55 million financial and procurement irregularities.
In a statement after meeting his GH¢50 million bail conditions on Tuesday, July 14, Aboagye said the alleged GH¢55 million was never discussed during his engagement with investigators.

“For the records: There was no discussion of any GH¢55 million with me by EOCO. None!!!” he said.
The former Executive Secretary of the Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee on Decentralisation (IMCCoD) said his four-day detention had strengthened his resolve to continue serving the NPP. He also thanked the party’s leadership, supporters and his legal team for their support.
Aboagye maintained that he would not be intimidated and remained committed to contesting for the position of NPP National Communications Director.
EOCO, however, says Aboagye’s arrest is part of ongoing investigations into alleged financial and procurement irregularities involving about GH¢55 million during his tenure at IMCCoD.
The agency also confirmed that the former IMCCoD accountant, Gerald Appiah, was arrested alongside Aboagye as investigations continue.
Aboagye was arrested at Kotoka International Airport upon his arrival in Ghana before being handed over to EOCO. His arrest sparked protests by some NPP supporters, who described the action as politically motivated.
